To gain the prestigious Director of Public Health Award a school has to complete two certificates.
They are the Healthy Schools Certificate and the Healthy Outcomes Certificate. The Healthy Schools Certificate is evidence that your school is a healthy place. The Healthy Outcomes Certificate shows that your school has improved the health and well-being of children and young people.
When you have gained a certificate it will be valid for two years. Most schools will start and complete one certificate before starting the other. You will decide which certificate to tackle first.
&S Director of Public Health Award
Fom April 2017, there will be an annual subscription of £300 + 40p per pupil* providing a useful and extensive package of support. This subscription will allow your school to have access to a secure area on the website with all the tools you need to apply for both certificates. You will also have individual support and advice from the Director of Public Health Award Coordinator and have access to additional resources that schools not subscribed cannot access.

To gain each certificate the whole school community, including children and young people, will need to be involved. Find out more about the process by clicking on the tabs on the left hand side of this page.
Joining the programme
If you wish to join the Director of Public Health Award programme, your school needs to create a new account. You will also need to subscribe to the DPH Award via the HUB
If you decide to withdraw from the programme, you can do so at any time. If you hold a certificate, it will remain valid until it expires.
