Further Education

We are really pleased to be working with newly merged Bath College on the DPH Award.

The 2 sites that make up Bath College are now called City campus and Somer Valley campus (previously Norton Radstock college).

Both campuses already support health and well-being in a variety of ways and the City Campus holds both certificates and the full DPH Award. Both also work closely with their own campus nurses, who contribute to a rolling programme of health education messages as well as providing a drop-in service. Students can contact the nurse through e-mail, phone or text.

To gain the prestigious Director of Public Health Award a college has to complete two certificates.

They are the Healthy FE Certificate and the Healthy Outcomes Certificate. The Healthy FE Certificate is evidence that the college is a healthy place. The Healthy Outcomes Certificate shows that the college has improved the health and well-being of the students and young people.

A certificate is valid for two years. Most colleges will start and complete one certificate before starting the other. The College will decide which certificate to tackle first.

Joining the programme

If you wish to join the Director of Public Health Award programme, your college needs to create a new account. If you decide to withdraw from the programme, you can do so at any time. If you hold a certificate, it will remain valid until it expires.
