Early Years Interventions
An Intervention is a piece of work you need to do in order to achieve your chosen outcome. You will need to select two different interventions, one for Healthy Eating and one for Physical Activity.
To get an idea of good quality interventions, have a look at the Early Years Outcomes and Intervention Directory. The interventions suggested support NICE good practice guideline; the EYFS; the Healthy Child Programme; Children’s Food Trust and the UK Physical Activity Guidelines for the Under 5’s and so can be relied on to make a positive difference if implemented correctly.
The choice of interventions is deliberately small. This is to ensure that the work is reliable and that settings will be successful. The achievements from your outcomes work will continue to provide data to our growing base of good practice in encouraging and supporting active and healthy lifestyles for young children and their families.
